About Lucile’s Old Market
Lucile’s Old Market is named after Lucile Schaaf, an icon in the Old Market for over 30 years. She turned this building into a magnificent display of history, from old buildings surrounding the Midwest. Inside this historic building you will see ceilings and walls covered in doors from the old Morris Hotel, City National Bank, the old Fontenelle Hotel Stare into the luster of the stained glass windows from a club near Nebraska City.
Marvel in the details of the antique fireplace from the old Wilcox House in Council Bluffs. Gaze through the leaded windows from the old Brandies Home. Look up to the ornate crown moldings from the old Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln, and so much more. Lucile started salvaging pieces from old buildings in the 60s. Her goal was to make a fantastic showcase for these items and she did just that.
